OVERVIEW

The Emirates Innovation Center, EIC, is based in United Arab Emirates’s capital, Abu Dhabi, and UK.

The EIC operating model is structured to facilitate the investment process and close the full circle around the innovation to create profits at a controlled risk level due to the diversification of multiple investments across numerous R&D initiatives and innovative companies in various stages of development. This investment strategy is achieved by leveraging our solid contacts with some of the world’s wealthiest Sovereign Wealth Funds, Venture Capitalist, Specialized Funds, and pooling other minor investor funds, which otherwise would be beyond the scope of most individuals.

The organization inherits a solid reputation in the local and regional community and enjoys substantial support from the government of the UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain and is now poised for significant growth.

The past few years have seen Abu Dhabi Emirate, which controls over 90% of the UAE’s oil reserves and nearly a similar percent of the nation’s gas wealth, taking the lead in setting ambitious economic diversification goals and fulfilling them in a steady and sustained manner. Among the key targets outlined by the Emirate’s diversification policies is ensuring a secure energy future and a significant reduction in carbon emissions by diversifying away from conventional fossil energy sources. This involved a lot of planning and strategies aligned with the government’s overall economic vision: the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and other government policies that provide a favorable legislative environment and business-friendly approach to enable the Emirate to embrace the new wave of energy revolution by all means possible. At the center of the Emirate’s transition strategy from fossil energy to alternative energy is the mastering of new technology, developing industry infrastructure, building national human capital and supporting research and innovation in the future energy. This resulted in the creation of entirely new economic sectors in the country, and today the Emirate is emerging as an investment hot spot in these vital sectors. Other GCC economies are making remarkable progress as well, and setting up the environment in which innovations or innovators make the greatest contribution to economic prosperity.

Innovations that sustain prosperity are developed and used in a huge setting involving many players invoked on many levels over many years. EIC’s role is to ensure that all the pieces of the puzzle are completed to allow all those stakeholders to play necessary and complementary roles to achieve maximum value.
